In patients' own words.

I found it fascinating that you can see actual visualization of the impingement in different motions. Also the fact that it shows where you stand compared to the population is very helpful in understanding the problem and source of the pain better. I especially appreciated it as a physical therapy student.

In my previous experiences, the physician would give a run down and explain the problem or the operation using medical images which are difficult to comprehend. Then, I would go home and watch videos to understand the process. Getting the explanations through VirtualHip slowed down the appointment and made me feel like I was really being prioritized — very "personalized care" forward. It was like an additional source of information to help you better picture and mentally prepare for the surgery.

As someone who's not a medical professional, it can be hard to picture the joint's geometry and the issues being discussed. Seeing the 3D model and comparing it with other cases helped me understand the problem and validated my feeling that there is something wrong with my hip.

I originally was not comfortable with going through a PAO surgery and was hoping to convince my surgeon to only repair my labrum, but seeing VirtualHip results made me more confident that I need it and that it's not as invasive as I thought. It also saved time explaining the anatomy and the problem. I think my surgeon would have had a harder time explaining the physiology to my parents without it.
